Floral Fuss Factor: Easy-going to a little effort needed. DO NOT place stems in deep water!! Calla Lily stems are hollow and the ends may begin to split in water. The higher the water level, the more of the stem is subject to splitting. Keep water levels low and trim off any split stems as they occur. Also, Calla Lily stems often have a natural bend or curve to them. We recommend working with the curve if possible. If you need to straighten the stem, keep mini Calla Lilies at room temperature, and GENTLY run your hand down the length of the stem in the direction you wish it to go. You may need to repeat this process several times per stem for it to straighten up.

Blossom Blues: Limited. Mini Calla Lilies have become an incredibly popular and highly sought-after flower. Unfortunately, the demand for this unique flower is often greater than its availability. Certain colors (white and burgundy/red specifically) may be more limited than others. Order your Mini Calla Lilies as early as possible to ensure the greatest chance of success. As always, Mother Nature has the final say as to the number of stems available at any given time. The good news is, the number of stems you order should all be usable, assuming they are cared for properly.

Not Heavy Drinkers: Keep stems in 1 - 2 inches of cool, clean water. These divas do not like to be kept in vessels filled with deep water.
Straight Cut: When trimming the stems of Calla Lilies, give them a straight cut across the bottom - NOT an angled cut.
Keep Away from Pets and Children: Calla Lilies contain insoluble calcium oxalate crystals that can cause irritation if chewed or swallowed. Keep flowers and trimmings out of reach of pets and young children.

Recommended Hydration Bucket: Because Mini Calla Lilies are premium flowers and they do best in low-water vessels, we recommend glass vases for hydrating purposes. Keep these beauties separate from other flowers until you are ready to arrange them.

Number of Stems/Bunches per Vase: This depends on the circumference of the vase. Generally 10 - 20 stems; however, do not overcrowd them. Always leave room for air to circulate between the blooms. Also, ensure the blooms are always above the top of the vase. Never leave floral blooms below the rim of a vase or hydrating container. Blooms always need to remain dry and protected from bruising by being overcrowded or squished in a container.

This is completely normal — think of it like how you’d feel after a long international flight, wedged into the middle seat the whole way: a little rumpled and definitely not at your freshest. Your flowers feel the same way. A fresh trim on the stems, a good drink of water, and some time to hydrate (flower relaxation time) will help them perk up quickly.

Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement

1: Unpack and Inspect

Unpack gently: Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box, but leave their protective packaging on for the first 4 hours of hydration to keep the stems straight.
Process immediately: Begin the steps below right away to help your flowers rehydrate and recover from transit.

2: Prepare the Containers

Sanitize: Ensure your buckets or vases are completely clean and free of dirt or soap residue.
Fill shallowly: Add 2 inches of cool, fresh water mixed with flower food. (optional) Shallow water keeps calla lily stems structurally sound and prevents splitting. Calla Lilies DO NOT like being kept in vases with deep water.

3: Trim and Place in Water

Cut Stems Straight Across: Use sharp, clean floral shears to cut stems straight across about 1 inch from the bottom. DO NOT cut at an angle. Calla Lily stems are hollow and rather thick. They do not do well with an angled cut.
Provide space: Place stems into the water immediately. Avoid overcrowding so the blooms have room to breathe. Calla Lily blooms may bruise if petals are rubbing against each other.
Ensure your Calla Lily blooms are always above the top of your vase or hydrating bucket. NEVER leave a floral bloom below the rim of a vase or bucket. Flower heads need to stay dry and protected from bruising by being overcrowded or squished in a container.

4: Hydrate and Maintain

Hydration window: Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate. Calla Lilies can take up to 12 hours to fully wake up.
Temperature control: Store in a cool room away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Callas are sensitive to cold; keep them in an environment above 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Monitor water levels: Check your containers frequently upon arrival, as fresh flowers drink heavily.

5: Time to Design

Refresh daily: Change the water daily, or every other day. Clean the vase, and maintain a 2-inch water level. Calla Lily stems are highly sensitive to bacteria, which causes them to curl and decay.
Recut regularly: Recut the stems every 24 to 48 hours to maximize water uptake.
